I was born in Vigevano where I grew up with my parents and my brother. I have many good memories of a happy childhood during which, I was committed to everything I did, including being a competitive swimmer.
At the end of my studies in Vigevano, where I received good results, I moved to Parma where I began my degree in Clinical Psychology. I completed my Masters degree in 2003.
I then moved to Rome where I continued to study. I was at the beginning of my career as a Clinical Psychologist and I began to appreciate the profession more and more.
I moved to Dublin in 2006. I wanted to challenge myself with a new language and a new culture. After taking a variety of jobs in order to learn the language, I then got employment as a Clinical Psychologist. I worked within an Adult Mental Health team as part of the psychiatric department of St. James Hospital in Dublin. I learnt a lot, and developed as a professional. I was amazed by the difference between what is written in books and how it is different when you have a real person in front of you. The relationship with the other person becomes crucial and the key is the capacity to be in touch with the other person's values.
I then moved to London in 2010. I worked as a Clinical Psychologist within the Social Services system for six years. My main role was to offer support to family members in order to avoid a breakdown and I was also part of a systemic team undertaking assessments for court. I also worked within the Foster carers team, offering support to foster parents and Looked after children.
I became more and more interested in working with trauma. I soon realised that words were not enough. I then decided to complete a Masters in Psychodrama and Movement Therapy and, later on, I specialised in Narrative Therapy. I appreciated the use of metaphors, body movement and imagination to support the person where words are not enough. Using other channels could be, at times, a healing process.
I moved back to Italy in 2016 and I currently live in Cesena (FC). I am currently a freelance Clinical Psychologist and I work mainly with adults and young people. I also offer sessions via Skype, both in Italian and English. I am currently attending a Psychotherapy course in Bologna, focussing on Body work.
I am a very determined and curious person. I love connecting with people and I am passionate about discovering and travelling. I love laughing with my husband. I am amazed by my children's eyes in front of new discoveries in the world.
